it's actually just that simple! How in the "HELL" can our "Right Wing Evangelicals" put together an "Iraq Battle Plan" that required a "Sunni-Shiite" religious reconciliation as a "condition precedent" to succees! How stupid are these people? Jewish "Wulfowitz", Jewish "Rumsfeld", Jewish "Feith" all should have known that ANY "technical" reconciliation among Muslims would be virtually impossible. Why?
Most "un-evolved" Evangelicals believe, with all their hearts that the Jews "Killed Christ". That means, they killed "GOD". I was raised that the "Romans" killed Christ. (et tu Tiberius!) For the Shiites believe that the Sunni's "killed Mohammed's Cousin" who Mohammed left to rule their religion.
So, it's not very bloody likely that my Grandfather would forgive anyone he thought "killed god"! Of course, we can all stay in the same country and "Vote Together" that's called "Democracy". Put "planning" on a "Shia-Sunni" "reunification" as step one before full "Democracy takes hold"...that's just FREAKING IGNORANCE!
Just as an after thought. There are many passages in the Old Testament that are "horrifying" but shouldn't "define" an entire religion or people. There are "facts" we should all know about Mohammed, that perhaps may not "define" what Muslim religion is. Mohammed, a "pagan and idol-worshipper" was actually "schooled" to "semi-christian" by his 1st Wife who was a "Christian".
She would take Mohammed with her to listen to the Gospels read in Arabic by a "Quarish" "Koresh" teacher". If you read "zorro's stuff" very often, you may have read the article that talks about the word "Koresh" and "Quarish" being Arabic for "furnace". His first's wife name was Khadija. Her name means "Premature Child" and she was the mother of ALL his children.
Mohammad was her 3rd husband. Khadija's first two husband were killed in battles among Arabic tribesmen. She was a very wealthy widow living in Mecca. Although many dispute she was "christian", she did Not sacrifice to Uzzuzah, the Arabic goddess of human sacrifice nor worship idols. She was generous in all things. Death in Arabic families is not going to "awe" anyone! War is a way of life.
Mohammed had only one son, by the Christian "Khadija" but he was "died/killed" in infancy. "Khadija" according to the teachings died after a short illness at the age of 48. Mohammed's next wife was "A'isha". He married her when she was "nine years old". "A'isha" which means "alive" or "survivor". The practice of Child Brides in Saudi Arabia is wide spread and rarely discussed.
Some investigators indicate that Saudi Arabia "imports" hundreds of child brides. There have been allegations for centuries that this practice is behind "White Slavery" that still exists all over the world.
For what it's worth, the Muslim world is split on confirming the 1st "official" acts of Mohammed as "prophet" was to destroy the entire Koresh tribe. The Koresh or Qarish were Jewish or Quarayza Tribe. (Banu-Quarayza). It appears to be same tribe his wife was from. Regardless, they seem to have been inveterate "idol worshippers and "sacrificers".
FYI from a "strategic" perspective. The Muslims do NOT "Shock" easily. The "Shock & Awe" wasn't much of a show in the battle for "hearts and minds"! The Pentagon is a ship of fools! The hand on the tiller, can not read the stars!"
