A MEME IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER! THE DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY OF SUBLIMINAL MEMES-DIGITAL MEMES WITHIN A MEME!

this is a very lazy article.  i'm copying it from "WikiPedia".  We've all heard the rumors that HP Laser Printers use a process call "Steganography" to print tiny 'serial numbers" in yellow on every document their lazer printers Print.  I've checked into and I can tell you to buy OKIDATA C5800. It doesn't have the same printing technology as the HP>   I'm sure you think you are safe...but here is a little demonstration of just how much information can be "JUXTA-POSED" within a single image or image file.

The applications are simply "mind blowing".  It looks like everyone on the planet should add a "digital filter" combined with "decoder" to stop the latest threat.   Every data color data file of 24 bit depth..really only need 8 bits or even 2 bit depths to render a recognizable color image.  With "bit depths" approaching 2046...it's quite possible to hide entire applications the size of Microsoft Word..inside a single 24 bit jpeg???

Think of it as placing a 10 megapixel color image over top of a 2 megapixle image.  The "top" colors...would mask the colors of the "thinner" image.  Now let's see what happens in real life.  This article is incredible.  Terrorists are using "pornographic digital" images to transfer massive amounts of data througout the world.  The implications are ominous.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steganography

This is a digital "photo"...actually it's not a "photo" it's file being transferred to your monitor and decoded.  I think that I shall never see a "steganography" as beautiful as a "tree-cat".  When you remove about 80%  of the data "bits" from the tree...what remains is the "file" pattern on the right.  It's a cat.

But don't worry...our government and Homeland Security all over this threat just like they are all over the Arsonists from the US Army/Fort Bragg/Special Forces/JFK Special Ops that started most of the fires in San Diego. County.

An anti-terrorist organization that does tons of work in Eurasia...called Jamestown Organization...brought the "steganographic" "data compression" technology to light. http://www.jamestown.org/terrorism/news/article.php?articleid=2370293

According to the editor-in-chief of Technical Mujahid, Abu al-Mothanna al-Najdi, the objectives of the magazine are to eradicate the phobia and anxiety suffered by those who refrain from participating in jihad because they erroneously believe that intelligence services are monitoring their every move.

Secure communications, a significant and important tool for any underground group, is the first training subject in the magazine, authored by Abi Musab al-Jazayri, "the Algerian." After a brief historical account of the evolution of secret communications from the use of secret ink to Morse code to binary 256 bit and 2048 bit encoding, al-Jazayri launches into the body of his training article with "the thing that scares the FBI most is the use of secret communication techniques, by jihadis, known as the concealment science." The training article outlines steganography, which is the art of hidden messages; steganalysis, the art of detecting hidden messages; and the merits of hiding data in innocuous-looking images. Al-Jazayri appears to be an expert on the subject judging from the details he included such as image pixels, mathematical equations to prevent distortions in pictures used to hide data and the disadvantages of encryption software available on the market like

He explains that a good program to use is the "Secrets of the Mujahideen" software application because it is a dual system that hides encrypted data in a picture and compresses the files to nullify steganalysis methods. He then provided an example of hiding 20 communiqués of the Islamic Army in Iraq in a 100 x 50 pixel picture. His example highlights the necessity of applying steganalysis before choosing a picture to hide data.

PS: the aztecs incas and aztecs used a "knot" system of counting to send coded messages that the Spanish couldn't read.  They also utilizes "tapestries" where certain indiviudal threads were woven within "cloths"  to hide messages.

I believe we are underestimating the "resilence", "intellect" and "resourcefulness" of the Arabic cultures.  For example, when the Priests at the Temple of Ammon burned "camel dung" ...a white powder or ash stuck to the "cedar"? ceiling.

In modern terms the Chemcial was NH4Cl...the priests were harvesting it for a number of uses as far back as 1600-1800 BC.  The Greeks discovere "heaps" of it outside the temple when Alexander conquered Egypt.  They called it "AMMON-IA"..after the name of the temple.  The white powder was pure Ammonium Chloride..aka "sal ammon" or "Salt of Ammonia".

What was the salt used for?

you'll just have to wait!
