What Really Happened: Palin’s Office Will Release Potentially Damaging Emails—For A Price

Palin's office wants $88,000 to fulfill a Freedom of Information Act request filed recently by the state's Public Safety Employees Association, the union that represents the governor former brother-in-law, Mike Wooten, an Alaska state trooper, who was involved in a bitter divorce and child custody suit with Palin's sister.

88K? There must be a cheaper way to set up some sort of filter to sift through thousands of emails and fulfill the request. Does it really cost 88K to setup a keyword filter on an email archive? But then again, who knows...maybe they don't have the people available in Alaska to do this and they would need to import outside consultants. Still, seems unreasonably high on its face.
